Back/Neck Pain
Back and neck pain are extremely common conditions present in our society and most of us have experienced this pain at some time. Studies show that greater than 80% of the population in the United States will seek medical attention for back pain. The spine is an extremely complex structure of 24 vertebrae, corresponding discs, and the sacro-iliac region. It is supported by ligaments and an extensive muscular and fascial system. The spine creates a foundation for mobility and more importantly protects the spinal cord and exiting nerves.
Injury can occur as the result of direct trauma to any of the above structures or the result of repetitive stress to the joints, discs, or adjacent soft tissue. As movement specialists we treat spine pain and disorders by addressing not only the diagnosis, but by identifying biomechanical factors contributing to dysfunction.
